Crush Capacity or Nearly Empty: Demographics and Metrobus Utilization

A more cost-effective transportation system might be able to better focus its resources so that Metrobus can be more reliable and useful in the places where a bus system can work well, while implementing adequate service to those without cars but with jobs in the outer suburbs. Tactics to reduce cost structure include reducing total service and reducing the size of buses serving low farebox recovery stops, encouraging car/van-sharing to replace infrequently used routes, and redeploying resources to areas which predict more ridership.
