Did Global Warming Cause California’s Drought?

California has had less precipitation during the drought, but the models say it should have gotten more. Either the models are wrong and California will continue to get less precipitation, or the models are right and the 2011-2015 drought was an aberration from the long-term pattern of more precipitation. Either way, the models were wrong in 2011-2015. If we cut the models some slack here, shouldn’t we discount their results everywhere, because the models clearly haven’t forecasted accurately?
