Heritage Mourns Loss of Phyllis Schlafly
Perhaps best known for her work to prevent the federal government dictating gender roles to state and local governments, Schlafly was described as a “gracious warrior” by Heritage President Jim DeMint:
“Phyllis Schlafly was a persistent, nimble advocate of conservative principles and traditional values for a half century.
“Mother, writer, lawyer and president-founder of the Eagle Forum, her contributions to the conservative movement cannot be understated. Phyllis lent us her unyielding but gracious voice to answer and outsmart the radical left.”
